Q: What is pea shingle gravel?
Pea shingle gravel is a natural mix of rich gold, tan and cream angular chippings. This decorative aggregate is perfect for footpaths and other landscaping needs. Options include the 20kg bags as well as the larger bulk bags.
Q: What is the best membrane to use under pea shingle gravel?
Having a strong, non-woven geotextile membrane in place will keep the pea shingle gravel in place and will stop it from spilling onto the road. These geotextiles are designed to allow water through, whilst separating and stabilising the aggregate within. It also makes pea shingle paths and soil easier to walk or drive on. Also, because of the pea shingle gravel angular design - they work really well with our driveway grids (porous pavers), PP40 is highly reccomended.
Q: Why is my pea shingle gravel very dusty and opaque?
Thoroughly washing the pea shingle gravel once you've laid it will help you achieve the best colour and finish in your garden by rinsing any dust or fines to the bottom of the surface.
Q: How can you evenly distribute the pea shingle gravel?
We would recommend using a standard garden rake to evenly distribute the gravel on the ground.
